HIPAA Compliance

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) is a United States law that regulates the collection and handling of “protected health information” (PHI).

MySurveyLab provides general research software and other services.

We implement administrative, physical, and technical safeguards that reasonably and appropriately protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the MySurveyLab system.

The following procedures and features required by HIPAA are activated by default on your account (Professional and Enterprise plans).

  • System is regularly monitored, updated and patched.
  • Regular risk assessments of system.
  • Data backup plans.
  • SSL / HTTPS. The system is SSL secured. User can also secure survey links.
  • System logs. We log user activity and we can provide you with the system logs on request.
  • Automatic logoff.  User is automatically log off after inactivity in the system longer then 60 minutes.
